The Downtown Runners and Walkers is the popular running/walking group. Each Tuesday - rain or shine - 20 to 40 people ranging in abilities from seasoned marathoners to beginning walkers meet at a different metro Detroit site. After route instructions, people take off on a course of four to eight miles. After the run or walk, everyone meets for food, drink and the most interesting conversations. Membership is free.
We traveled to the west side for our annual pilgrimage to the Ice festival in Plymouth, Michigan. This is truly a way of getting away from the eastsiders. As fate would have it, the ice festival succombs to Mother nature and it rains all day.
